Neighbors,
Our most recent Commission Meeting covered several important items for our city, and I’d like to share a few key updates with you — especially on an issue that directly affects the safety and quality of life in our neighborhoods.
At last week’s meeting, we approved $4.1 million in roadway improvements across Pembroke Pines. After careful discussion and collaboration, I supported three of my fellow commissioners to move this critical investment forward.
These improvements include several projects in District 4, such as:
Road-widening in high-traffic corridors
Targeted speed-feedback signs proven to reduce driving speeds
Safety upgrades designed to reduce congestion and improve daily commutes
Most importantly: we passed these improvements with no increase to your tax rates. This is responsible governing, investing in core infrastructure while protecting residents from additional financial burden.
We also finalized the appointment for both the Police and Fire Pension Boards, ensuring long-term stability and responsible oversight of the pension investments for the men and women who protect our community.
If you’d like to review the entire agenda or follow the details of our discussion, you can view the full meeting online.
It is an honor to serve as your Vice Mayor, and I will continue working every day to make sure your voice is heard at City Hall.
Stay informed,
– Mike Hernández
