This weekend, I shared an Op-Ed with the South Florida Sun Sentinel addressing an issue that strikes at the very heart of our local democracy: how and when we choose our city’s leaders. After much reflection and conversations with many of you at your doorsteps, I am officially calling for a move of Pembroke Pines municipal elections to the November general election cycle.

Neighbors, I’m incredibly grateful to share that last night, I was re-elected to continue being your District 4 Commissioner! Thank you to the residents of Pembroke Pines for placing your trust in me once again to serve as your City Commissioner for District 4. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to represent our community, and I’m proud to continue working on your behalf.

Neighbors, Last night, the Pembroke Pines City Commission held our latest meeting, and I wanted to share a few highlights with you. One of the best moments of the evening was recognizing the West Broward High School competitive cheerleading team for winning their seventh FHSAA Class 2A Competitive Cheerleading Championship and their second national championship in the D1 Large Non-Tumbling division.

Local elections don't always get the attention they deserve. But the truth is, no level of government impacts your day-to-day life more than your city commission.
