Neighbors,
While I continue to serve District 4 as your Vice-Mayor and Commissioner, it's important that I stay in touch with you to ensure everyone is up to date in our community.
There’s a couple of updates and reminders I’d like to go over. Most importantly, a reminder that Election Day for our District is March 10th.
If your vote-by-mail ballot has arrived, make sure you fill it out and return it ASAP.
The election for Pembroke Pines District 4 Commissioner is the only item on the ballot. You may also drop it off in person at a Supervisor of Elections (SOE) Branch Office:
SOE at SW Regional Library, 16835 Sheridan Street Pembroke Pines, Florida 33331
OR
SOE at Broward College South Campus 7200 Pines Blvd, BLDG 68A, Room 104, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024
There will be no early voting locations during the March 10th election. You have until February 26th to request a vote by mail ballot.
Whether you vote-by-mail, or in person on March 10th, it’s important you make your voice heard. Local government is the most impactful for you and your family, and you deserve true and good leadership representing you.
I also want to provide you with two updates from our recent City Commission meeting, where we approved important investments to support the first responders who keep Pembroke Pines safe.
The Commission voted to approve the purchase of new body armor for our Police Department, ensuring officers have updated protective equipment while serving our community. We also approved the purchase of 40 new sets of bunker gear for our Fire Rescue team so firefighters have the reliable equipment they need when responding to emergencies.
These are practical decisions that directly support public safety, strengthen preparedness, and make sure our first responders have the tools necessary to do their jobs safely and effectively.
As your Commissioner, I believe taking care of the people who take care of us is a basic responsibility, and I will continue prioritizing investments that protect our community.
Thank you for staying engaged and being part of our community, I hope I can count on your vote.
Sincerely,
– Mike Hernández
